In January 2018 I launched a career in the technology industry.
For my first role, I worked as a website designer for Dixons Carphone. My responsibilities included updating the Dixon’s and PCWorld homepages as well as coding ad-hoc pages using HTML5 and CSS3.
I found that I preferred coding HTML and CSS to designing and decided to pursue a career as a developer. To transition from design to development, I studied with Mayden Academy where I learnt the fundamentals of software development.
Curry’s CAMI Campaign
Whilst at Dixons Carphone I built a number of pages from Photoshop designs.https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/cami-716-commercial.html
The page is written in HTML and CSS and supports browsers from IE10. I am able to write HTML and CSS without recourse to references.
Whilst studying at Mayden I built a whack-a-mole game.
Whilst studying at Mayden Academy I contributed to an OO PHP Pokédex build.
I contributed to the build by writing the login script. If the user attempts to access the index page without first adding their email address to the database, they are redirected to the login page.

Hobbies & Interests
I enjoy writing poetry, reading and going for long walks in the countryside.
I write poetry to give substance to thoughts and feelings that may otherwise be forgotten. Samples of my work, and website design, can be viewed at:https://foreverwonderland.com
I generally read science fiction novels as I enjoy immersing myself in alternative realities in which science and technology are catalysts for social change. Iain M. Banks’ Culture novels are amongst my favourite books of all time.Download CV
